Terri M. Long

Terri M. Long has 20 years of experience in the Illinois and Indiana bankruptcy courts. Since 1991, Ms. Long has practiced exclusively in the representation of creditors. She is a 1987 graduate of IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law in Chicago.

Before entering private practice, Ms. Long served for three years as an Attorney for the Standing Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois. As counsel to former Chapter 13 Trustee Jack McCullough, Ms. Long assisted in the administration of more than 6,000 consumer bankruptcy cases and represented the trustee in all court proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Illinois at Chicago.

From 1990 until 1998, Ms. Long worked as a bankruptcy attorney for Sherman & Sherman, a creditor's rights firm in Chicago. In January of 1999, she opened her own firm in the Chicago suburb of Homewood, to serve both her Chicago and Northwest Indiana bankruptcy clients.

Previously, Ms. Long served as an intern to the Honorable Ilana Diamond Rovner, United States District Judge, now a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Prior to her career in law, Ms. Long was a reporter and editor for several Illinois newspapers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.

Ms. Long is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the South Suburban Bar Association.
